FS20 Block Commands and System Behavior

The block commands support broadcasting of the acknowledge, reset, and silence/unsilence commands across the fire network. If enabled, the block commands in event handling apply to the entire fire network. In System Manager, the block commands only apply to the selected panel.

Block Commands Macros

When you enable the block commands for a fire network, macros for broadcasting the commands are automatically created under Applications > Logics > Macros > Block Command Macros.

Block Commands Validation

If fire objects of a network configured for block commands are subject to validation, be aware of the following:

  • For block commands to execute correctly, the block command macros must have the same (or a higher) validation profile as the target objects. Target objects are for example the FS20 Area-Block Commands and XNET Panels. Block command macros whose target objects have a higher validation profile than the macros will not execute.
  • For full control of block command configuration at the fire network level, the block command macros must have the same (or a lower) validation profile as the fire network object. Disabling block commands (and thus deleting macros) will not be possible if a block command macro has a higher validation profile than the fire network object.

Block Commands and Scopes

If you defined a customized scope for the fire system, you need to check your configuration to prevent any inconsistent behavior. In fact, while the block commands may operate on multiple panels and networks, the security and scope settings must enable operators to command all panels and networks involved in their fire alarm handling. In the customized scope, make sure to include, from the Management View, all fire panels and networks affected by the block commands macros.
