[Example] Creating a Custom Text Group for Organization Modes in the Libraries

Scenario: By default, the On and Off organization mode has two possible values (On/Off). You want to instead assign it a set of three possible values (On/Off/Standby). Because a text group with these three values is not available in the libraries, you need to create it first.

  • System Manager is in Engineering mode.
  • You created a customized library for that level by cloning the structure of the Global > Base library of the L1-Headquarter upper level.
  1. In System Browser, select Project > System Settings > Libraries > L4-Project > [global] > [base] > [texts].
  • The Text Group Editor tab displays.
Here you can configure as many rows as required, each corresponding to an entry of this text group.
  1. Click Add new row :
    a. In the new row, enter Value=0 and descriptive text=Off.
    b. Click OK.
  1. Click Add new row :
    a. In the new row, enter Value=1 and descriptive text=On.
    b. Click OK.
  1. Click Add new row :
    a. In the new row, enter Value=2 and descriptive text=Standby.
    b. Click OK.
  1. Click Save .
  • The Save Object As dialog box displays.
  1. In the Object name and Name fields, enter TxG_OnOffStandby.
NOTE: It is important to follow specific syntax rules when saving a text group:
    a. The object name and name must have the following prefix: TxG_.
    b. The prefix can be followed by a label that indicates the Organization Mode type.
  1. Click OK.
  • The new text group object is available in System Browser.
  1. Exit and restart the Desigo CC client application.
  • The new text group becomes available in the Text group drop-down list in the Object Configurator tab.
  • The new text group will now be available to use when you configure an organization mode.

To assign this text group to an existing organization mode, see [Example] Changing the Text Group of an Organization Mode.
