Configuring SNMP Monitoring of a Custom Device
You can configure Desigo CC to monitor a custom SNMP device that you have previously defined in the project. For background information see SNMP Device Monitoring.
- The custom SNMP device that you want to monitor is defined in the project. See Defining a Custom SNMP Device.
- You configured the SNMP driver and SNMP network and the driver is running. See Configuring the SNMP Connectivity.
- System Manager is in Engineering mode.
- In System Browser, select Management View.
- Select Project > Field Networks > [SNMP network].
- The System Management tab displays.
- Click New , and select the custom SNMP device.
- Its name corresponds to the name defined in the custom SNMP data model, for example, New GMS_SNMP_MySNMP_Device.
- In the New Object dialog box, enter a name and description.
- Click OK.
- The newly created SNMP object is automatically selected in System Browser.
- Do one of the following:
- In the System Management tab, complete the fields in the General Settings and Properties expanders. See SNMP Device Configuration Workspace for details.
- If you previously exported an SNMP configuration file (a file with extension .snmp) for this device, you can import it instead of manually completing these fields. See Importing an SNMP Device Configuration.
- Click Save .
