Deleting an OPC DA Client Configuration

This section provides instructions for deleting a previously configured third-party OPC server, OPC network, or driver.

Prerequisites

  • System Manager is in Engineering mode.
  • System Browser is in Management View.

Delete a Third-party OPC Server

  1. Select Project > Field Networks> OPC network > [third-party OPC server].
  • The OPC tab displays.
  1. Click Delete .
    NOTE: If the OPC server is subject to validation, you have to enter the password.
  • A confirmation message displays.
  1. Click Yes.
  • The OPC server is removed from System Browser.

Delete an OPC Network

  1. Select Project > Field Networks > [OPC network].
  1. Select the OPC tab.
  1. Click Delete .
    NOTE: If the OPC Network is subject to validation, you have to enter the password.
  • A confirmation message displays.
  1. Click Yes.
  • The OPC network is removed from System Browser.

Delete an OPC Driver Associated with an OPC Network

Before you can delete an OPC driver you must first delete any OPC servers imported under that OPC network and then remove the association between the OPC network and the OPC driver as follows:

  1. Select Project > Field Networks > OPC Network.
  1. Select the OPC tab.
  1. In the Network Settings expander, from the Monitored by driver drop-down list, select the blank row.
  1. Click Save .
  1. You can now delete the driver. See Delete an OPC Driver not Associated with an OPC Network, below.

Delete an OPC Driver not Associated with an OPC Network

  1. Depending on where the OPC driver to delete is located, select one of the following:
  • Project > Management System > Servers > Main Server > Drivers > [OPC driver]
  • Project > Management System > FEPs > [FEP station] > Drivers > [OPC driver]
  • The OPC tab displays.
  1. Click Delete .
    NOTE: If the OPC driver is subject to validation, you have to enter the password.
  • A confirmation message displays.
  1. Click Yes.
  • The OPC driver is removed from System Browser.
